TEVERRA LLC is seeking a full-time, mid to senior-level “Geothermal Geologist” with at least 5 years of post-MS/PhD industry or research experience in geothermal energy exploration and development, to join its growing geothermal team. This position will have a significant focus on data mining, new data collection, cleaning, analysis, and incorporation into geothermal system models. Preferred experience includes fieldwork, geothermal exploration, conceptual modeling, geophysical data collection and analysis, and resource evaluation. Projects will include both low and high enthalpy, in hydrothermal and enhanced geothermal systems. This role will also help in the enabling of oil and gas companies to transition to profitable geothermal energy solutions.
Job Duties:
- Build geothermal system conceptual models
- Perform geothermal play fairway analysis
- Perform geothermal resource characterization, quantification, and valuation
- Perform static and dynamic reservoir modeling
- Facilitate technical advisement of early career staff
- Design and facilitate contracting of fieldwork data collection including geophysical surveys, geochemical surveys, rock sampling, and/or well-logging
- Perform Geophysical data QA/QC, analysis, and incorporation into geothermal system models
- Propose novel ideas and develop innovative solutions for low and high-temperature geothermal reservoir mapping
- Analyze and interpret relevant data and work with the engineering team for well placement and design
- Coordinate work with managers and partners to deliver project results
- Generate proposals, reports, presentations, and other deliverables
- Keep abreast of state-of-the-art geothermal knowledge, methodologies, and technologies
Minimum Skills/Qualifications:
- 5 years of industry or post-degree experience
- Sound understanding of the fundamentals of Geology and Geophysics
- Strong statistical and computational ability
- Experience with GIS systems and data analysis
- Experience with mapping geothermal systems
- Geophysical data collection, analysis, and inversion modeling for MT, Gravity, Magnetic, and Resistivity
- Strong report writing skills with the expectation of publishing papers and articles
- Ability to collaborate with multiple sectors and different industry experts including reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, power systems engineering, regulatory and environmental agencies
- Fluent in both written and spoken English with the willingness to present to clients
- Good customer-facing skills and ability to deliver results on a tight schedule
- Great team player with the willingness to synergize efforts
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Microsoft Office proficient
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- PhD with primary education related to geothermal exploration
- Demonstrated experience building and performing complex thermal numerical modeling, including multi-phase flow
- Demonstrated experience with interpreting and incorporating geophysical results into geothermal system models
- Geophysical data collection, analysis, and modeling including remote sensing, DTS, DAS, and seismic
- Geostatistical analysis
- Data scraping and mining
- Process automation
- Machine Learning and AI experience for subsurface data analysis
